About Elizabeth Norton Gray

ABOUT ELIZABETH NORTON GRAY

Elizabeth Norton Gray is a wife, mother to 3, and foster mother to some.  Married in 2002, Elizabeth resides in New Jersey. Host of a rising (pun intended) podcast called “Fermenting: God’s Not Done With Me Yet” where baking metaphors meet guests sharing life lessons from all across the globe. Every episode is seasoned with encouragement and cements the idea that, like dough waiting to rise, we are all a work in progress. Bread is universal after all, no matter what economic class or county you come from. Elizabeth also is marketing director of her family run bakery, Thomson’s Bakery

Elizabeth is an author and is currently enrolled in the law program at Regent University with her sights set on obtaining her J.D. Elizabeth has a strong commitment to leaving this world a better place than how she found it.

Elizabeth has held many titles in her life but being a birth mother of three makes her the most proud. After the birth of her first child she realized her love for little people.  With the blessing of her husband, she signed up to be a resource parent for the state of NJ.  Together, they fostered 23 children over the course of 5 years. Elizabeth’s life was changed as each and everyone child came and then left. Her days of being a temporary mother are long gone.  The children have left her home but never her heart. This has made her appreciate the 3 biological children God gave her even more.  Being a mother is the hardest job she has ever loved to have.  During her early mothering days, Elizabeth helped cope with the highs and lows, the hellos and goodbyes, and captured the memories on an influential mom blog starting in 2007.

Later in life, Elizabeth started struggling with sleep, headaches, and vision issues and was ill in her early 30s many times being bed ridden for days. During that time, writing on her blog was a way to heal but it eventually turned into a successful business as she created the Elizabeth Norton brand. In 2018, a tumor/cyst was found behind her eyes and was removed relieving her symptoms. Elizabeth shares her story online and out loud to the world to let others know that they are not alone on this very hard journey called life. She has worked with brands such as Disney, Caesars Entertainment, Hershey, Walmart, Johnson and Johnson, Clorox, and more. With her illness behind her, Elizabeth is excited to be back in the game of life.

In 2009, Elizabeth saw a child trafficking ring running through a local public school.  Though she experienced, along with her family, intense persecution as she whistleblew the ring on her blog and social media channels, she is committed to fight for the 50+ kids and those like them that she saw being sold over the course of 11 years. She will never stop fighting for the child she held and the other nameless children that crossed her path. In fact, the family bakery has joined to “bake” this world a better place by giving a percentage of profits towards efforts against the exploitation of children.

In 2014, Elizabeth was nominated as a social good online Influencer in the Keep Good Going Category of the Shorty Impact Awards, an international awards program created to raise global awareness around the positive impact through social media that brands, agencies and nonprofits can have on society.  She was also awarded a Community Champion Award from national nonprofit Champions for Kids in 2013.

Elizabeth Norton Gray has sat on boards and volunteered throughout her life for a variety of causes and efforts. Children’s rights and well being will always be a soapbox that she stands on.

She credits her relationship with a higher power in getting through life’s most difficult moments. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 31:8-9. “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Elizabeth is committed to doing just that.
