What it’s like to rent from Altobelli Rental Properties

I have agreed to start sharing stories that are being told to me about alleged victims. This series is called the “SCUM Files”! I am not the author. These stories have not been verified and for the time being are alleged.

My fiance and I recently lived in one of Lou Altobelli’s rental properties. People I knew said not to trust him and that he is a slum lord. We should have listened. 

My fiance was originally on a medical voucher. Lou offered an apartment (not on the voucher list) and said he would accept the voucher as rent. After 2 months of us living there, he changes his mind and wanted cash, which we had no problem paying. He made my fiance go back to the voucher housing for a month, then let him move back into the apartment. He claimed someone told on him. This is not the first time he has done this to people, and I’m sure there are more out there. 

We paid rent in cash. The hours to collect rent at his auto shop are limited and Im sure there is a reason for that… most people are at work during the hours they collect rent. 

He pounds on your door to collect and does not give receipts. 

He filed an eviction on us. We continued to pay rent. We had documentation of payment written in a notebook. We went to court and lost. The judge said our notebook didn’t count and we couldn’t prove that we paid. 

We are now homeless and living in hotels. My paycheck only goes so far. 

Some nights we sleep in my car. 

Neither of us do drugs. 

Please what ever you do, no matter how good the offer is or the rent seems… do NOT rent from Lou. Slumlord is too nice for what kind of person he is… and his gf/partner… I believe she is worse. Many people have said he offers money for sexual favors in exchange of rent. She knows and turns a blind eye… because the money is too good. I believe She knew what he did to us and allowed it to happen.
